Cuenca is often labelled as one of Ecuador’s most attractive towns. Cuenca, with its enthusiastic residents, has a distinctly positive, yet laid-back atmosphere and retains a unique charm. Exploring the pretty cobbled streets and buildings is enjoyable in the mild climate. Home to many crafts including ceramics and distinctive metalwork that you will see in abundance adorning local houses. Here you will also find one of Ecuador’s most famous exports, the Panama hat. A visit to the factory comes highly recommended.
